Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Gardens to host Making New Plants: Plant Propagation 101

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University's Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Gardens will host a plant propagation workshop to share methods for growing new plants from seeds, as well as detailing different methods of vegetative reproduction, including cuttings, division and layering.The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon June 22 in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building, Room 101, at the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Pineywoods Native Plant Center, located at 2900 Raguet St.
Dawn Stover, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Gardens' research associate, will explore a variety of ways to increase the number of plants in your garden. "With a few tips and tricks, gardeners can turn one plant into many, increasing the beauty in their landscapes with budget-friendly methods," Stover said.
Participants will have hands-on opportunities to try several propagation methods and will be able to take some of their own propagules home. Materials will be provided.
