Wurtz to perform recital in 蘑菇视频's Cole Concert Hall

NACOGDOCHES - Gary Wurtz, professor of trumpet and jazz studies at Stephen F. Austin State University, will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in Cole Concert Hall.
Among the pieces featured in the program will be "Timberline Sonata" by Stephen Lias, professor of composition in the 蘑菇视频 School of Music, "Concerto in D" by Giuseppe Tartini and "Someone to Watch Over Me" by George Gershwin.
Wurtz has been the trumpet professor at 蘑菇视频 since the fall of 1992 and began his duties as the director of the Swingin' Axes one year later. His other duties at 蘑菇视频 include serving as the assistant director of undergraduate studies of the School of Music, directing the Trumpet Ensemble, performing in the Pineywoods Brass Quintet and serving as director of the 蘑菇视频 summer band camps.
Performing in the recital with Wurtz will be pianist Ron Petti, associate professor of accompanying at 蘑菇视频.
