Stephen F. Austin State University combined choirs and members of the Nacogdoches community sing during a previous presentation of Handel's 'Messiah.' Turner Auditorium.NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Registrations for participation in the community-wide presentation of Georg Frideric Handel's "Messiah" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, are now being accepted through the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music.
The school has a long history of presenting Handel's masterpiece during December, said Dr. Tim King, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ professor of music and director of choral activities. "We invite singers from around the area to join their voices with the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ combined choirs and participate in this holiday tradition."
Rehearsals, which are limited but mandatory according to King, are scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, in Room 126 of the Tom and Peggy Wright Music Building and at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1, and Thursday, Dec. 4, in W.M. Turner Auditorium.
