Turner Auditorium.NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Stephen F. Austin State University's jazz bands, The Swingin' Axes and the Swingin' Aces, will present a joint concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus.
The Swingin' Aces will open the concert with a program that includes Sammy Nestico's arrangement of "I'm Beginning to See the Light."
"It's great to be back working with the Swingin' Aces after a semester-long hiatus," said director Deb Scott, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ assistant professor of music. "We've got a great band this fall that's really beginning to swing."
Under the direction of Gary Wurtz, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ assistant professor of music, the Swingin' Axes will present music by composers such as Gordon Goodwin, Pat Metheny and Bill Holman.
The concert is a joint presentation of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ College of Fine Arts and School of Music.
