Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ to host local writers for Fall Reading Series


The Department of English at Stephen F. Austin State University will host poets Andrew Brininstool and Kimberly Verhines during its Fall Reading Series at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, in the Liberal Arts North Building, Room 102.

Brininstool is a visiting assistant professor of English at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ whose works have been featured in "New South," "Quick Fiction" and the anthology "Best New American Voices 2010." He has been awarded the Sherwood Anderson Fiction Award from "The Mid-American Review" and the Editors' Prize from "New Ohio Review," among others. Brininstool is currently working on a fairy-tale novel about professional bass fishing.

Verhines, director of the new Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Press, received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Idaho. Her work has recently appeared in "Born on Air" and in various journals and anthologies.
