Dr. Darrel L. McDonald, professor of geospatial sciences at Stephen F. Austin State University, recently received a distinguished alumni award from Chadron State College in Nebraska.
McDonald is assistant director of the Columbia Regional Geospatial Service Center on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus. He assisted with mapping services during the recovery of debris following the Space Shuttle Columbia crash in 2003.
McDonald received two bachelor's degrees and a master's degree from Chadron State and a doctoral degree from Texas A & M University. He has been an Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ faculty member since 1990.
