Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Wind Ensemble presents 'Welcome Home' concert

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Following a five-concert tour of high schools in Central and East Texas, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Wind Ensemble will present its "Welcome Home" concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ campus.

"Playing in various high schools each winter is important for the visibility of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and our band program, and what better way to inspire high school musicians than by sharing with them the best music written in our country?"

Featured works include "Millenium Canons" by Kevin Puts and "Baron Cimetiere's Mambo" by Donald Grantham.

Both of these composers are on the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin," Allen said, "and they are at the forefront of American musi today."

The Nacogdoches concert is a joint presentation of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ College of Fine Arts and School of Music. W.M. Turner Auditorium is located in the Griffith Fine Arts Building, 2222 Alumni Dr.
