'Percussion in the Pines' concert

2011-2012 Stephen F. Austin State University percussion students

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ percussion students will present their annual holiday concert, "Percussion in the Pines," at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, in Cole Concert Hall. The program, which features the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Percussion Ensemble and Steel Band performing a collection of carols, popular tunes and contemporary holiday arrangements for percussion, will be a "fun and festive way to celebrate the end of the semester and the joyful holiday season," said Scott Harris, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ associate professor of percussion and director of both ensembles. Audience members are encouraged to bring a new toy to the concert for the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Percussion Department and Phi Boota Roota percussion society's toy drive. All collected toys will be distributed to the less fortunate children of Nacogdoches. The concert is a joint presentation of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ College of Fine Arts and School of Music. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students. For tickets or more information, please visit or call (936) 468-6407 or (888) 240-ARTS.
