Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ adjunct faculty member David Raine (left) and Commerce junior Benn May record a scene from the School of Theatre's first radio play, "The Gift of the Magi," which will premiere on the university's radio station, KSAU (FM 90.1), at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 8, with subsequent broadcasts to be announced. The half-hour program, written by Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ resident playwright and Broadway veteran writer Jack Heifner, is an adaptation of O. Henry's classic Christmas story of the same title about a struggling young wife and husband who make extraordinary sacrifices to buy one another Christmas gifts. The production was recorded in the School of Theatre's newly renovated, state-of-the-art sound laboratory and directed by Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Senior Lecturer Jackie Rosenfeld.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ students and faculty voiced all of the parts, wrote and performed the original score and provided background caroling. The program will be available as a podcast at from Friday, Dec. 9, through Tuesday, Jan. 17.
