Lumberjack Achievement Awards
Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ is proud to celebrate outstanding advisors, student organizations and student leaders. The semi-formal annual Lumberjack Achievement Awards ceremony is hosted at the end of the spring semester in the Grand Ballroom.
Nominations are accepted in the spring semester. We can't wait to acknowledge your fantastic achievements!

Individual Awards
Student Employee of the Year
Recognizes an undergraduate or graduate student employee with at least six months of service who exhibits the highest level of reliability, quality of work, initiative and professionalism and makes unique contributions to their department.
Student Journalist of the Year
Recognizes an enrolled student who has performed extraordinary journalistic work in the current academic year while contributing to one or more recognized Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ student media outlets.
Volunteer of the Year
Honors an outstanding student who demonstrates dedication to service in their community.
Advisor of the Year
Honors an advisor who takes seriously their role in developing student leaders and promoting student success.
Top 23 Freshmen
Students have gone above and beyond during their first year at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ to get involved in student organizations, take on leadership roles, and help improve their campus and community.
The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Way Award
Given to a student leader who exemplifies the five root principles of The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Way: Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Unity and Integrity.
Underclassman Student Leader of the Year
Honors an underclassman who demonstrates outstanding commitment to academics and to their fellow students as demonstrated by the student’s activities and significant contributions to the university and community.
Baker Pattillo Student Leader of the Year
Recognizes an Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ senior who demonstrates outstanding commitment to academics and their fellow students as demonstrated by the student’s activities and significant contributions to the university and community.
Student Organization Award
Student Organization of the Year
Presented to an Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ student organization that has demonstrated consistent flexibility, initiative, creativity and perseverance through their activities and programs.
The Best of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ
The Best of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ
The Best of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Awards annually recognize three students who excel in the areas of scholarship; participation and leadership in academic and co-curricular activities; and service and loyalty to the university. These exemplary students are honored during the award ceremony and represent Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ throughout the following academic year.
Eligibility
To be eligible for consideration, the student must:
- have completed 90 earned credit hours by the end of the previous fall semester
- a minimum of 48 credit hours completed at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ
- have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
- be within 12 months of graduating from Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ
- be enrolled for the current spring semester.
- not have received a similar award from a higher education institution.
Selection Criteria
- Scholarship, participation, and leadership in academic and co-curricular activities
- Service and loyalty to the university
- Ability to represent Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ well during the following academic year
- In-person interview
