Welcome to the Division of Environmental Science

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ offers an award-winning environmental science program that combines rigorous academics with hands-on learning.

Our graduates are capable of understanding and addressing the complex environmental problems facing modern society. And, due to the high demand for environmental scientists, nearly 100% of our graduates find employment in their chosen field.

AREAS OF STUDY

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in spatial science are required to select a track from the options below.

  • The interdisciplinary nature of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ’s environmental science program provides students with the opportunity to work with and learn from experts in diverse scientific fields such as chemistry and biology.
  • Internships are a core component of an environmental science student’s education. Many of these internships are paid and often result in post-graduate job offers.
  • Environmental science students use science to develop solutions to real environmental problems such as air and water pollution.

  • Allyson Holman

    Allyson Holman

    As an intern, Allyson has assisted both an international environmental consulting firm and Texas' largest electric utility in environmental compliance. Her goal is to help conserve endangered species.

  • Cooper Kirklan

    Cooper Kirklan

    In addition to completing an internship with Oncor Electric Delivery, environmental science senior Cooper Kirklan maintains an impressive 4.0 GPA. He also volunteered for the Peace Corps in Mozambique as a science teacher.

  • Tyler Kysiak

    Tyler Kysiak

    Tyler Kysiak recently completed an internship with Elm Creek Environmental, LLC, where he assisted scientists in completing Phase 1 environmental site assessments, air permits and stormwater pollution prevention plans.
