Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ is proud to host competitions throughout the year that are focused on the entrepreneurial mind of our Lumberjacks. Competitions are open to all students, regardless of major or classification. Great ideas are not limited by field of study or experience!

Drones in Society

Presentations will occur May 1, 2026 during Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's all-day Drones in Society Conference.

The conference will focus on discussing and learning about drone applications in society. Presentations of a diverse range of topics are expected from faculty members and Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ students, including drone application in art, aquatic biology and forestry. 

Interested students may participate in poster and/or oral presentations related to drone applications. Submissions for oral presentations are accepted first-come, first-served and should not exceed 15 minutes.

Scholarships will be offered to the top three poster and oral student presentations:

  • $2,500 in scholarships to first-place winners
  • $2,000 in scholarships to second-place winners
  • $1,500 in scholarships to third-place winners

Pop-Up Pitch Competitions

Lumberjack Entrepreneurship Competition

Student-entrepreneur teams are selected for the spring semester semifinalist competition and pitch in front of a live panel of judges. The top-five teams advance to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's "Shark Tank"-style finals. Over $20,000 in scholarships will be awarded to the top three teams! Learn more about the Lumberjack Entrepreneurship Competition.
