Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ reports increased enrollment for fall 2016


Stephen F. Austin State University is reporting an increase in enrollment for the fall semester, as well as several other indicators of positive performance at the institution.

Enrollment increased from 12,606 in the fall of 2015 to 12,742 this fall. The largest growth was among freshman students, whose numbers increased 3.5 percent, from 3,251 in the fall of 2015 to 3,364 this fall.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ music faculty members present annual scholarship concert


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Faculty members of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music will be the featured performers during the annual Pi Kappa Lambda Music Faculty Showcase at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, in Cole Concert Hall on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus.

"This concert is a showcase featuring the talents of our diverse performing faculty," said Deborah Dalton, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ associate professor of voice and president of the local chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda, the national music honor society.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's Rusche College of Business to present Evening with Executives


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University's Rusche College of Business is hosting an Evening with Executives at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the McGee Building, Room 133, on the university campus.

Citizens National Bank CEO Brad Tidwell and his executive team will provide a "State of the Industry" address in which Tidwell will discuss his views of the banking industry and economy. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions after the address.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University officials and staff members are offering assistance to students displaced by the abrupt closure of ITT Technical Institute's resident campuses.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Gardens to host fall plant sale


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University's Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Gardens will host its annual Fabulous Fall Festival Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St., in historic Nacogdoches.

The sale will feature a variety of hard-to-find, "Texas-tough" plants, including Texas natives, heirlooms, tropicals, perennials, shrubs, trees and exclusive Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ introductions. Most of the featured plants are extensively trialed before being offered to the public and are produced by staff members and volunteers of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Gardens.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ launches new scholarship management system to streamline application process


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University recently launched a new scholarship management system to help provide students with a streamlined tool to search and apply for scholarships. 

AcademicWorks, a comprehensive, integrated scholarship management system, simplifies awarding scholarships and facilitates the move toward centralizing the university's scholarship management in Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's Office of Student Financial Assistance.

Texas Court of Appeals, 12th District, to hear oral arguments at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ
