Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ playwright's play in New York festival


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - What started out as a huge disappointment for playwright Jackie Rosenfeld, senior lecturer in the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre, has turned into an exciting opportunity.

Last October Rosenfeld traveled to New York City to see The Manhattan Theatre Mission's production of "keepingabreast," her play about a 28-year-old cancer patient who must decide whether or not to undergo a mastectomy to rid herself of the cancer that has proven resistant to chemotherapy treatments.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Gardens at Stephen F. Austin State University will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, in the Agriculture Building, Room 110, at 1924 Wilson Drive. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ to debut new shuttle bus system


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - An expanded shuttle system will transport Stephen F. Austin State University students along a circular route between six popular destinations on campus this fall.

The new Jack Track system will employ four new climate-controlled buses, each seating 24 passengers, that are ADA approved with a lift ramp and capacity for two wheelchairs. The buses will run continuously from 7:20 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ freshmen meeting increased admission standards


First-year students entering Stephen F. Austin State University this fall have met higher academic standards than any previously admitted students.

The higher admission standards were approved by regents in January 2010 based on a recommendation by a committee of faculty and staff members that studied the standards in place at that time.
