Unique trombone/percussion duo to perform at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ
NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present a free concert by the Brian Allen and Hernan Hecht Duo Monday, September 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Recital Hall of the Wright Music Building on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus.
Allen, who writes his own music, is one of the world's greatest trombonists, according to Dr. Deb Scott, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ associate professor of trombone. He and percussionist Hecht perform regularly in Mexico and the United States, and are currently touring Texas as they promote their new album, "Dr. Hueipi."
German art historian to speak at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ
NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - "Art in Germany since the 1990 Political (Re)unification" will be the topic of a free public lecture to be given by Dr. Christoff Zuschlag at 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, in Room 142 of the Liberal Arts North Building on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus.
The lecture is a joint presentation of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ School of Art and Department of Modern Languages.
Zuschlag, who is a professor of art history at Koblenz-Landau University, will first give a brief historical outline of what occurred in the art world in the two Germanys after 1945.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ to stage student-directed 'The Other Son'
NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS -The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present a student-directed production of Luigi Pirandello's "The Other Son" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25. All performances are in the Downstage Theatre located on the first floor of the Griffith Fine Arts Building.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Piney Woods Camerata, a conductor-less string ensemble led by the Stephen F. Austin State University string faculty, will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, in Cole Concert Hall on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus.
The ensemble consists of Dr. Jennifer Dalmas, violin; Dr. Evgeni Raychev, cello; Eric Fisher, double bass; and Dr. Geneva Fung, piano.
