The is designed to identify first-semester freshman students who did not meet the admission requirements as a result of significant extenuating circumstances. Space is limited and documentation required. Applications must be submitted at least five business days before the semester and are reviewed on a continuing basis for the fall and spring semesters.

Transfer from another institution

First-semester freshmen not meeting admission requirements may attend an accredited community college or four-year university to gain admission to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ for a future semester if they successfully complete:

  • at least 15 semester hours of transferable work after high school graduation
  • with a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Reapply to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ: When you reapply for admission to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ, submit all official college transcript(s) that reflect the above completed criteria.

Students who participate in the Jacks Jumpstart program may not need to reapply to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ for admission.

Jacks Jumpstart program

Transfer to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ in a year without reapplying!

Offered online and in-person at , the Jacks Jumpstart program is designed for first-semester freshmen who don't meet admission requirements and would like a seamless transition to life as a Lumberjack. 

Requirements for admission to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ:

  • If you receive the offer from Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ to join the Jacks Jumpstart program, be sure to opt in by May 1.
  • Complete 15-30 semester hours of transferable core classes through the Jacks Jumpstart program.
  • Achieve a minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Be "college ready" according to the Texas Success Initiative.

Students who complete this program and its requirements are eligible to transfer to Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ within one academic year without reapplying.
