Junior Jacks' schedules include a rotation of "specials" — subjects offered outside their normal classroom with specialist teachers.

During their time at the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Charter School, students learn the principles and elements of art and design using a variety of mediums. They explore painting, drawing, collage and pottery, with projects often consisting of college-level ideas adapted for elementary-aged students.

Specific projects are displayed in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Charter School hallways, both to showcase artists' work to their peers and to get younger students excited for new art explorations as they get older.

Mr. Russ Havard

Russ Havard

I earned my master's degree in art in 1997 from Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and spent a number of years as a professional artist. I began teaching elementary and college students in 2010 and have really enjoyed the artistic adventures of children and adults. I joined the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Charter School in 2020 and have enjoyed seeing and sharing the art students create.
