Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ honors distinguished alumnus with School of Theatre and Dance renaming


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– In recognition of a career that has shaped the performing arts and inspired generations of artists, Stephen F. Austin State University officially renamed its School of Theatre and Dance to the Denard Haden School of Theatre and Dance in honor of Haden, celebrating a legacy of creative achievement and a deep, enduring connection to the university. The name change is effective immediately and was approved by The University of Texas System Board of Regents.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ professor provides Deep East Texas economic outlook for state journal


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– Despite economic uncertainty in the U.S., East Texans can look forward to growth in 2026, according to a recent Texas Real Estate Research Center article written by Dr. Mikhail Kouliavtsev, professor and chair of Stephen F. Austin State University’s Department of Economics and Finance and director of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµâ€™s Center for Business and Economic Research in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ.

Stone Fort Museum to host St. Patrick’s Day concert


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– Stephen F. Austin State University’s Stone Fort Museum will host a St. Patrick’s Day concert featuring local band El Camino Real de Nacogdoches from 2 to 4 p.m. March 14.

According to Carolyn Spears, Stone Fort Museum director, Irish settlers brought their traditions to Nacogdoches in the 19th century, with more than 3,000 Irish people listed on the 1860 census. The concert will showcase Celtic, bluegrass, traditional country, Appalachian, folk and other music genres.
