ĢƵ to host Conservation Careers Camp
NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Registration is now open for Stephen F. Austin State University’s Conservation Careers Camp hosted by the Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture.
The camp, held June 20 to 24, is open to students age 14 to 17 who are interested in exploring career opportunities in natural resource management through engaging, hands-on experiences led by ĢƵ professors and industry professionals.
ĢƵ music faculty to present piano works by Schumann, Fauré
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music faculty members will present “An Evening of Chamber Music: Piano Trios of Schumann and Faure” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10, in Cole Concert Hall on the ĢƵ campus.
The performance features Dr. Andrew Parr, professor of piano; Linda Parr, piano instructor in the ĢƵ Music Preparatory Division; Dr. Jennifer Dalmas, professor of violin and viola; and Dr. Evgeni Raychev, adjunct faculty, cello.
ĢƵ School of Theatre to present student-directed ‘Stop Kiss’
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present the student-directed play “Stop Kiss” by Diana Son in both streaming and in-person performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 9, and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10, in Regents Suite A of the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the ĢƵ campus.
ĢƵ College of Fine Arts Dean’s Circle to recognize 2021 award recipients
The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts Dean’s Circle will recognize six exceptional students during the presentation of the annual Dean’s Awards at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 9, in Kennedy Auditorium on the ĢƵ campus.
ĢƵ Trombone Ensembles to present recital
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Trombone Ensembles at Stephen F. Austin State University will perform works by Pierre-Max Dubois, Franz Joseph Haydn, Chris Culver, Burrill Phillips and other composers when they present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, in Cole Concert Hall in Wright Music Building on the ĢƵ campus.
The ensembles, directed by Dr. Deb Scott, professor of trombone in the ĢƵ School of Music, are a part of the ĢƵ Trombone Choir, which has been divided into smaller groups as a way of dealing with the impact of Covid-19.

ĢƵ Music Prep festival booth registration, sponsorship deadline is April 1
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – An April 1 deadline to register to participate as a booth exhibitor or sponsor for the Stephen F. Austin State University Music Preparatory Division’s 40th anniversary outdoor music festival is drawing close.
The all-day outdoor event on Saturday, May 1, will feature the talents of Music Prep’s outstanding student musicians and give local merchants the opportunity to showcase their businesses while showing support for the School of Music’s outreach programs, according to Alba Madrid, Music Prep director and program instructor.
ĢƵ theatre students present ‘Reality’s TV: The Perception Project’
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present “Reality’s TV: The Perception Project” in virtual performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 1 through 3.
“Reality’s TV: The Perception Project” was created by ĢƵ theatre students as an interactive adventure designed to be entertaining and potentially change public perception of what theatre is and can do, according to Dr. Slade Billew, assistant professor of acting and movement and the project director.
