NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Theatre students at Stephen F. Austin State University have prepared for their presentation of “Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead” in ways they have never experienced, even for the most seasoned actors and crew members.

With the world still in the throes of the COVID pandemic, all students – from freshmen to seniors – are taking extra precautions to keep each other safe while still trying to connect with their acting partners on stage, according to Crayten Clendion, senior from Cypress who has acted in numerous Mainstage plays at Ģ����Ƶ.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The A Cappella Choir at Stephen F. Austin State University will present a virtual concert entitled “Autumn Splendor and Solemn Ritual” when the ensemble performs at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.

The choir will perform works by composers from Slovenia, Germany, Italy and Norway, along with new music written in response to the COVID pandemic, according to Dr. Michael Murphy, director of choral activities in the Ģ����Ƶ School of Music.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Twenty-eight Nacogdoches High School students were inducted as the seventh cohort of the STEM Research and Learning Center participants. Stephen F. Austin State University’s College of Sciences and Mathematics offers the program to engage students in 9th through 12th grades in real-world, problem-based research and field experiences.
 
Consisting of freshman from Nacogdoches High School, the cohort is immersed in a supportive community of teachers and Ģ����Ƶ faculty they will be working alongside throughout the program.
 

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Stephen F. Austin State University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs will celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community during its annual National Coming Out Day event Oct. 12.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — While many people consider math a subject that transcends languages, math students still need to solve word problems and justify their answers. Thus, their teachers need to develop language as well as teach math concepts.

To help teachers do just that, Dr. Jim Ewing, associate professor in the Department of Education Studies at Stephen F. Austin State University, has self-published two new books on English-language learners. Both build on his highly regarded primer, “Math for ELLs: As Easy as Uno, Dos, Tres.”

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — The Stephen F. Austin State University rodeo team has gained a competitive advantage in the arena thanks to a spur board and mechanical bucking machine donated by a group of 31 Ģ����Ƶ Rodeo Club alumni and past coaches.

Austin State University, will share his knowledge of tintype photography both locally and abroad beginning Oct. 1 with an exhibition opening at Panola College and a research presentation to the British Royal Photographic Society.
