Film series to feature 'Without Bound: Perspectives on Mobile Living'


The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and the Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free, one-night screening of "Without Bound: Perspectives on Mobile Living" at 7 p.m. Friday, March 3, in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.

The results of a pilot study completed by Michaelle Coker, Stephen F. Austin State University's equine center supervisor, indicates that engaging broodmares in a moderate exercise program can help decrease the number of cycles per conception. Students enrolled in Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's equine reproduction class played an integral role in the care and monitoring of each broodmare leading up to and during the birthing process.

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz was in Nacogdoches recently and visited with Stephen F. Austin State University administrators and supporters at the Juanita Curry Boynton House. After a welcome from Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ President Baker Pattillo, pictured at right, Cruz discussed a variety of topics, including the effects of the nationalized student loan program and immigration reform on higher education.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ marketing students prepare for national competition


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University students enrolled in an advertising and promotion course in the Rusche College of Business are embarking on a challenge to help counter violent extremism as part of a national competition.

In Edventure's Peer to Peer: Challenging Extremism competition, students must create and activate their own social media campaigns to challenge violent extremist ideology, propaganda and recruitment by creating positive, alternative or counter narratives, according to the competition's guidelines.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has announced the recipients of its annual Research and Creative Activity grants. The RCA grant program was created to help support the initial research efforts of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ faculty members and help prepare them and their research for submission to national grant programs.
