'Manufactured Landscapes' documentary to show at Cole Art Center

Registration deadline nears for Kindermusik Adventure Camps
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music and the Music Preparatory Division will once again offer the popular Kindermusik Adventure Camps this July for children age newborn through 7 years.
The camp classes, which run July 13 through 17, will be held in the Prep Performance Hall of the Music Prep House, located at 3028 Raguet St. Each class has a different theme and is age appropriate, according to Pat Barnett, director of the Music Preparatory Division of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ School of Music.
Local photographic and art groups plan 2015 gallery shows
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Nacogdoches Photographic Association and Nacogdoches Art League will open their 2015 gallery shows with a reception at 6 p.m. Friday, June 19, in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.
Theme for the photographic association show is "Tells a Story," and serving as juror was Johanna Warwick, assistant professor in the School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - While directing the upcoming SummerStage Festival production of "The Emperor's New Clothes: The Musical," Angela Bacarisse will not just draw from her experiences as an actor and director. She can also rely on her expertise as a designer of costumes, makeup, scenery, lighting and props, as a dancer and choreographer, as a stage manager, grip, stage electrician … the list goes on … to make this musical just as successful as "Spamalot," which she directed last fall.
Scholarship bass fishing tournament announced
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Campus Recreation Department of Stephen F. Austin State University will host the third annual Worsham Bass Tournament on Saturday, June 27, at Jackson Hill Park and Marina on Lake Sam Rayburn in Broaddus.
All proceeds will benefit the Dr. Raymond Lee Worsham Scholarship for Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Campus Recreation established through the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Alumni Association.

FVA's Jones Art Scholarship awarded to Longview graduate student
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Longview graduate student Carlton Herbert has been selected as this year's Charles D. Jones Art Scholarship recipient at Stephen F. Austin State University.
The Jones scholarship, established by the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Friends of the Visual Arts, is awarded on an annual basis to a junior, senior or graduate level student with drawing or printmaking as his/her major study area. Students must show initiative and a broad appreciation of all of the fine arts with a concentration on printmaking, according to the eligibility criteria established by Jones.
Tintype portraits available for purchase at Blueberry Festival
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ School of Art and Friends of the Visual Arts will offer Texas Blueberry Festival-goers the opportunity to sit for a unique self-portrait as a fundraiser for FVA.
Tintype portrait sessions will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 13, inside The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches. Cost is $20 per portrait.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Dr. Richard Jones, professor of theatre at Stephen F. Austin State University, is among approximately 30 scholars from around the nation selected to participate in a National Endowment for the Humanities summer institute that will explore issues of translation in the classroom.
