ĢƵ students go abroad to explore businesses in Ireland and Scotland


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Fifty students from Stephen F. Austin State University’s Rusche College of Business traveled to Ireland and Scotland May 11 through 21 to explore businesses, including a smokehouse near the Cliffs of Moher, the home of Guinness beer in Dublin and a kiltmaker on Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile.

ĢƵ music alumnus’ composition selected as All-State Choir piece


NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin State University music alumnus Zach Moore continues to earn accolades as a musician and composer, having recently had his work “Always Keep This Close” selected as an All-State Choir piece for the 2025 Texas Music Educators Association All-State Choir process. It’s just one of a series of Moore’s compositional accomplishments influenced by chance and choice, followed by an eventual decision to chase a dream.

ĢƵ accepts bid to join Southland Conference for 2024-25 season


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Stephen F. Austin State University’s Department of Athletics has accepted an invitation to join the Southland Conference as a full-time member effective July 1.

ĢƵ’s University Police Department, Emergency Management to facilitate active shooter training and drills


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Stephen F. Austin State University’s police department and its Emergency Management team will conduct Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training sessions June 3-7 at an unspecified location on the ĢƵ campus.

Despite the enhanced police presence during the specified time, members of the university and Nacogdoches communities should be aware this is a drill and not an immediate threat.
