ĢƵ Percussion Ensemble to premiere work of freshman music student
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin State University Percussion Ensemble will present world premieres of two works, including one composed by a freshman ĢƵ percussion student, written specifically for ĢƵ percussionists when the ensemble performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, in Cole Concert Hall on the ĢƵ campus.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Seven Stephen F. Austin State University faculty members recently were selected to receive Teaching Excellence Awards.
ĢƵ’s Teaching Excellence program is an opportunity to recognize outstanding faculty members for their contributions to the university through excellence as teachers. Each of the university’s six colleges selects a member of its faculty to receive an award. One ĢƵ Faculty Senate member from among all colleges also is chosen.
ĢƵ presentation of ‘Carmen’ runs through Saturday
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The School of Music at Stephen F. Austin State University will present Georges Bizet’s opera “Carmen” nightly through Saturday, April 1, in Cole Concert Hall on the ĢƵ campus. Veronica Stovich, senior voice student from Texas City, performs the role of Micaela. “Carmen” is the story of an entrancing and free-spirited girl and the inexorable impact of fate. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and $8 for students and youth.
