Departmental Business Continuity Plans

Every department relies on people, facilities, systems, equipment, vendors and information to accomplish its mission.

A Business Continuity Plan (BCP) documents how a department will continue or restore operations when normal conditions are disrupted.

Departmental plans should identify:

  • Essential functions
  • Critical personnel
  • Key facilities
  • Technology dependencies
  • Recovery strategies
  • Communication procedures
  • Vital records and data requirements

BCPs support the university's overall continuity framework and should be reviewed annually.
