College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Services

Students may take CLEP tests at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ or at any other location and should specify Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ's code (6682) to have official scores sent to the Office of Admissions. Credit will be awarded based on Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ's credit-by-exam policy in effect at the time the test was taken.

Testing center fee

In addition to the exam cost, Testing Services requires a $40 nonrefundable service fee be made payable to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. Check or money order only.

Test day

Remember to bring everything required by CLEP, including two forms of proper identification. Also bring your payment voucher for check-in.

Retaking an exam

  • You must wait six months before retaking an exam.
  • Exam for a specific topic can not be taken more than twice.
  • You cannot be currently enrolled in the course for which the CLEP credit is desired. 

CLEP policy on retesting

CLEP exams may not be retaken within a three-month period. This waiting period provides you with an opportunity to spend additional time preparing for the exam or the option of taking a classroom course. Ifyou retake the examination within the three-month period, the test will be considered invalid, the score will be canceled and fees will be forfeited.

What to bring or leave at home

Regardless of the test for which you're registering, Testing Services enforces the following policies and restrictions. Lockers are provided for storage of restricted items.

Clothing

Bring
  • Dress comfortably in layers and be prepared to adapt to variations in room temperature.
    • Sweaters or light-weight outwear are good.
Do not bring
  • Hats, headgear and outwear with hoods
  • Jackets/coats are not permitted by many testing sponsors. Refer to your test's specific restrictions.

Identification

Bring
  • Current, valid photo identification
    • Confirm the identification requirements of the testing sponsor before registering for your test.

Electronic devices

Do not bring
  • Cell phones/smartphones
  • PDAs, tablet PCs, iPods, iPads, etc.
  • Cameras
  • Any other photographic, communication, computer and electronic devices

Food and drink

Do not bring
  • Food
  • Drinks (no, not even water)
  • Gum
  • Candy
  • Tobacco products

Testing/study materials

Do not bring
  • Mechanical pencils
  • Study materials (unless permitted by the test sponsor)
