Major Field Test (MFT)

Services

Available to current Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ biology students during each fall and spring semester, there is no charge for the major field test.

Scheduling your MFT

The scheduling window is determined by Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ's Department of Biology and shared with eligible students. Questions should be directed to the academic department.

During the scheduling window, contact Testing Services by calling 936.468.3958 to schedule either a morning or afternoon test.

Test day

Bring your valid photo ID to the testing appointment.

What to bring or leave at home

Regardless of the test for which you're registering, Testing Services enforces the following policies and restrictions. Lockers are provided for storage of restricted items.

Clothing

Bring
  • Dress comfortably in layers and be prepared to adapt to variations in room temperature.
    • Sweaters or light-weight outwear are good.
Do not bring
  • Hats, headgear and outwear with hoods
  • Jackets/coats are not permitted by many testing sponsors. Refer to your test's specific restrictions.

Identification

Bring
  • Current, valid photo identification
    • Confirm the identification requirements of the testing sponsor before registering for your test.

Electronic devices

Do not bring
  • Cell phones/smartphones
  • PDAs, tablet PCs, iPods, iPads, etc.
  • Cameras
  • Any other photographic, communication, computer and electronic devices

Food and drink

Do not bring
  • Food
  • Drinks (no, not even water)
  • Gum
  • Candy
  • Tobacco products

Testing/study materials

Do not bring
  • Mechanical pencils
  • Study materials (unless permitted by the test sponsor)
