Book signing part of 29th annual Downtown Nacogdoches Artwalk


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House has been a long-time participant in the annual Downtown Nacogdoches Artwalk, which is scheduled this year from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, along the historic streets of downtown Nacogdoches.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ to host Showcase Saturday for prospective students


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Future college students will have the opportunity to experience a taste of campus life during three free, action-packed open-house Saturdays at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches on Nov. 15, Feb. 28 and March 28.

Prospective students will get to visit with university faculty and staff, tour the campus and residence halls, and preview academic programs during the three Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Showcase Saturday events.

Cello Club to present recital to promote ensemble performing


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present the Cello Club with Evgeni Raychev in a recital at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, in Cole Concert Hall on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus.

Performers will include active Cello Club members playing with Raychev, School of Music faculty member, and his students.

The objective of the program is to promote and provide opportunities for cello ensemble playing, according to Raychev.

Madrigal Singers to perform fall concert


Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's Madrigal Singers will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Cole Concert Hall on the university campus.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ to present Tony Award-winning musical "Spamalot"


Stephen F. Austin State University's Schools of Theatre and Music will present "Spamalot" by Eric Idle, John Du Prez and Neil Innes at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, Nov. 18 through 22, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus, with a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee performance also scheduled.

ESPN3 to telecast Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ home athletic events next year


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University will be the first institution in the Southland Conference to produce ESPN3 telecasts for all home football, basketball, soccer and volleyball games.

At its quarterly meeting Monday, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Board of Regents approved funding for equipment and renovations to the William R. Johnson Coliseum and possibly other on-campus athletic facilities. The equipment and renovations are needed to facilitate the delivery of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ games through the ESPN3 platform.

Student-directed 'Blood Relations' retells story of Lizzie Borden


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present the student-directed "Blood Relations" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, in the Downstage Theatre on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus.

Senior Austin Holt of Weatherford directs Sharon Pollock's full-length play that retells the story of Lizzie Borden, the American woman known for being tried and acquitted for the axe murders of her father and stepmother in Fall River, Mass., in 1892.
