Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ student photography exhibition to feature tintypes


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art will present an exhibition of student photography showing Nov. 3 through Jan. 10 in the Reception Hall Gallery in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.

The exhibition will include both traditional photographs and tintypes, according to Johanna Warwick, assistant professor of photography in the School of Art. The photographs are from a seven-day camping trip advanced photography students took during this past Maymester to Santa Fe, N.M.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stone Fort Wind Quintet at Stephen F. Austin State University will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Cole Concert Hall on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ student's film to premiere at Austin Film Festival


At Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ, a graduate student's thesis project is the crowning glory of many academic careers - an exhausting project that allows the student to demonstrate their competency before a committee of future peers. The crowning glory of Ricky Kennedy's academic career is a movie about a time machine fashioned from an Atari game system.

Though the movie has already played at two festivals, the movie will show at its first Texas festival on Saturday, at the Austin Film Festival.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Alumni Association to host Homecoming Flap 'Jack' Breakfast


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University Alumni Association will host a breakfast fit for hungry Lumberjacks from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in front of City Hall, 202 E. Pilar St., in downtown Nacogdoches.

In conjunction with the 2014 Homecoming festivities, a buffet of flapjacks and special toppings will be cooked and served by the Nacogdoches Kiwanis Club. Kids can enjoy pancake decorating, coloring books and photos with the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Lumberjack and Ladyjack mascots and other spirit team members.
