Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ strings camp concert features local soloist

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The strings camp hosted by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Music concludes today, July 11, with a concert at 3 p.m. in Cole Concert Hall in the Tom and Peggy Wright Music Building on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Gardens to host herbal seminar


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Join Cindy Hoyt, proprietor of Pineywoods Herb Farm, for an herbal seminar from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 19, in the Ina Brundrett Conservation Education Building, 2900 Raguet St., at the Stephen F. Austin State University Pineywoods Native Plant Center.

Participants will learn about creating infusions using bay leaves and participate in a hands-on lesson of making compound (herb-flavored) butter. Hoyt plans to share her culinary treats with participants, so guests will enjoy the sight, smell and taste of fresh herbs at this delicious seminar.

Kindermusik Adventure Camps coming in August

Austin State University will host a special lecture on gingers at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 7, in the Ina Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St. in Nacogdoches. Tom Wood will present "Collecting Gingers for the South China Botanic Garden."

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and the Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free, one-night screening of "Cutie and the Boxer" at 7 p.m. Friday, July 11, in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.
