ĢƵ’s Friday Night Film Series to screen ‘Seadrift’


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and the Friends of the Visual Arts will present a free, one-night screening of the documentary film “Seadrift” at 7 p.m. Sept. 6 at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House.

Father-daughter Parrs to perform ‘The Music of Early Kelly’ in ĢƵ recital


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– Stephen F. Austin State University Professor Emeritus Dr. Andrew Parr and his daughter, mezzo-soprano Eva Parr, will perform “The Music of Earl Kelly” in a recital at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6 in Cole Concert Hall on the ĢƵ campus.

The program will also feature additional works by Johannes Brahms, Richard Strauss, Nadia Boulanger and Lili Boulanger. Dr. Jennifer Dalmas, professor of violin in ĢƵ’s School of Music, will join the Parrs for “Brahms Op. 91 songs for Mezzo, Piano and Viola."

ĢƵ celebrates 4% residential occupancy increase, successful move-in weekend

ĢƵ Gardens lecture to discuss “growing plants where plants don’t want to grow”


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– Stephen F. Austin State University’s ĢƵ Gardens will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 in the Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center.

Dr. Whitney Griffin, landscape software product manager, will present “The Art of Growing Plants Where Plants Don’t Want to Grow.”
