NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The 2013 Summer Repertory season of the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will feature popular productions that will inspire and entertain audiences of all ages.

Rauschenberg exhibition moved to Cole Art Center


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - An exhibition of the work of artist Robert Rauschenberg, which had been on display earlier this year in the Griffith Gallery on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University, has been moved to The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House where it can be viewed throughout the summer.

"Robert Rauschenberg: Four Decades of Work on Paper" is an exhibition of 18 of the artist's creations offering an insightful cross-section of Rauschenberg's long and varied career, according to John Handley, galleries director for the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ School of Art.

Art Educators' Retreat at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ slated for June 16 through 20


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The deadline to register for the 2013 Art Educators' Retreat, a four-day workshop for art educators offered by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art, has already passed, and the sessions are full. But those still interested in participating can have their names placed on a waiting list, according to Marsha Blount, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ assistant professor of art education and director of the retreat.

Nacogdoches Art League's annual juried show opens June 14


R.G. Dean's "Reaching for the Sky" was selected Best of Show in the 2012 Nacogdoches Art League Annual Juried Exhibition. This year's show opens June 14 in The Cole Art Center.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ theatre students Nick Pinelli, junior from The Woodlands, and Mai Le, senior from Nacogdoches, perform during last year's Texas Blueberry Festival. This year's festival performance on June 8 will feature songs from the popular musical "GODSPELL," which is part of the School of Theatre's 2013 Summer Repertory season.

Scholarship bass fishing tournament announced


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Campus Recreation Department of Stephen F. Austin State University will host the inaugural Dr. Raymond Lee Worsham Scholarship Bass Fishing Tournament on Saturday, June 29, at Jackson Hill Park and Marina on Lake Sam Rayburn in Broaddus.

All proceeds will benefit the Dr. Raymond Lee Worsham Scholarship for Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Campus Recreation established with the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Alumni Association.

Registrations being accepted for Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Summer Art Academy


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Registrations are now being accepted for the Summer Art Academy offered by the Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art. The two-week camp will meet Monday through Friday, July 8 through 19, on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus.

Students in kindergarten through sixth grade may enroll in classes that include drawing, painting and sculpture.

"The academy offers an exciting introduction to the visual arts and an immersion into specific media," said Gary Parker, Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ art instructor and director of the academy.
