Annual ĢƵ alumni golf tournament slated for April 12


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– Stephen F. Austin State University’s annual Bob Sitton Classic is scheduled for April 12 at Woodland Hills Golf Club in Nacogdoches. Serving as a fundraiser for ĢƵ golf and the Alumni Association, the event honors Sitton, who served as ĢƵ Alumni Association director from 1972 to 1998 and helped endow hundreds of scholarships that generated millions of dollars.

Austin State University will present acclaimed trombonist, composer and producer Delfeayo Marsalis in a compelling performance with ĢƵ’s Swingin’ Axes jazz band at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the ĢƵ campus.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Jazz Doctors of Stephen F. Austin State University will join The Swingin’ Aces jazz band for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in Cole Concert Hall, Wright Music Building, on the ĢƵ campus.

Top student scholars to present at ĢƵ Undergraduate Research Conference


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Seven student groups and individuals from Stephen F. Austin State University and Tyler Junior College were named top scholars for their research, which they will present during the 2024 Undergraduate Research Conference from 4 to 7 p.m. April 9 in the Baker Pattillo Student Center theater. The conference is free and open to the public.

Zulu queen visits ĢƵ to thank business students working to increase funding for South African orphans


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — A Zulu nation queen traveled to Nacogdoches in March to thank graduate students in Stephen F. Austin State University’s Rusche College of Business for helping an orphanage in her home country of South Africa that houses children who have lost their parents to AIDS.
