Eligibility

Eligible nonresident or foreign students, including citizens, U.S. permanent resident, someone who is eligible to be a U.S. permanent resident and an eligible non-immigrant are those who meet one of the following:

  1. have family that has been transferred to Texas by a company established as part of the state's Economic Development and Diversification Program
    • not earlier than five years before the relevant enrollment date
    • and their spouse and children shall pay resident tuition as soon as they move to Texas. The student must provide Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ with a letter of intent to establish Texas as their home.
  2. moves to Texas to attend Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ before their family is transferred.
    • In this case, the student is permitted to pay the resident tuition beginning with the first term after the family moves to Texas.
  3. have maintained a residence in Texas for 12 months with their family.
    • In this case, the student may request a change in classification in order to pay resident tuition.
