Austin State University undergraduate students studying German are bringing that adage into the 21st century as they create virtual museums for display on iPads and tablets examining German cultural history from 1942 to 1990.
Wind Symphony to present 'Tin Pan Alley'
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Wind Symphony at Stephen F. Austin State University will present the program "Tin Pan Alley" at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 2, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ campus.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ bands to present annual 'Concert in the Park'
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University bands will present the annual "Concert in the Park" at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 1, on the lawn in front of the Wright Music Building.
Performing will be the University Band and the Symphonic Band, both directed by Dr. James Dreiling, acting assistant director of bands at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ; the Wind Symphony, directed by Dr. Tamey Anglley, acting associate director of bands; and the Wind Ensemble, directed by Dr. David Campo, acting director of bands while Fred J. Allen is on spring sabbatical.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ's Rockin' Axes to perform music of the '70s
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Rockin' Axes at Stephen F. Austin State University will present "The Sounds of the '70s, Part II" when the ensemble performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, in Cole Concert Hall on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ campus.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ administrators investigating complaint made by student-athlete
Stephen F. Austin State University officials are investigating a complaint made by a member of the Ladyjack Basketball team, who claims that Head Coach Mark Kellogg treated her unfairly during the season.
Because this is a personnel issue, the university will not comment on the matter while the investigation continues.
"The well-being of all Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ students is our primary concern," said Dr. Baker Pattillo, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ president. "Our investigation, which began more than a week ago, will be thorough. We will take any appropriate action based on what is found."

Oil Drop Oliver was born at 8 a.m. on a Friday during a marketing, advertising and promotion class in Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ's Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. Made of felt and polyester stuffing, Oil Drop Oliver serves as a loveable character that is clean and green.
