Austin State University students, including members of the university’s American Marketing Association student chapter and graphic design majors, made their mark during this year’s District 10 American Advertising Federation Student Conference in Houston, earning top honors for their creative strategies and teamwork.

Honors Research Symposium highlights ĢƵ students’ innovative work on university retention


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– Stephen F. Austin State University’s School of Honors recently hosted its sixth annual Honors Research Symposium to showcase the research efforts of first-year students enrolled in ĢƵS 1101 "New-Lumberjack Experience." The students presented their research posters on topics related to university retention, and the posters will be on display in the McKibben Education Building through the spring semester.

ĢƵ expands accepted transfer credit hours to enhance student success


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– In a move aimed at easing the transition for transfer students and maximizing educational opportunities, Stephen F. Austin State University has increased its accepted transfer credit limit from 66 to 90 credit hours. This significant policy change provides incoming transfer students with greater flexibility in applying their previously earned credits, helping them to progress toward degree completion without the need to retake courses or sacrifice credits.

ĢƵ School of Music bands host ‘Kaleidoscope’ concert


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– The bands in Stephen F. Austin State University’s School of Music will present their fifth annual “Kaleidoscope” concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the Griffith Fine Arts Building’s Turner Auditorium. The program will feature all three concert bands along with student chamber ensembles in a “kaleidoscope event” with no breaks between performances.

ĢƵ speech pathology clinic celebrates sixth year offering Parkinson Voice Project’s SPEAK OUT! Therapy Program


NACOGDOCHES, Texas –– Stephen F. Austin State University’s speech pathology clinic, the Stanley Center for Speech and Language Disorders, is celebrating its sixth consecutive year as the recipient of a Parkinson Voice Project grant that enables the center to offer the SPEAK OUT! Therapy Program.

ĢƵ students explore banking, financial planning careers


Stephen F. Austin State University students in the Rusche College of Business learned from Texas banking, bank regulation and financial planning experts that their industry is far more about people than money at a career exploration day Nov. 6. Sponsored by ĢƵ’s Chadwick Banking Program, the event featured one-on-one meeting opportunities with nearly 20 Texas banks and financial planning institutions as well as bank regulators from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
