NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Kurt Weill's "Street Scene," an American opera based on Elmer Rice's Pulitzer Prize-wining play, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 4 through 6, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus.

The opera, with lyrics by Langston Hughes and Elmer Rice, is a presentation of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ College of Fine Arts, School of Music and University Series.

TEDxÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ to highlight innovative concepts and ideas

Cole Art Center to be open during spring break


NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - Hours for the Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House, Stephen F. Austin State University's art gallery located in downtown Nacogdoches, will follow regular schedules throughout spring break.

The Cole Art Center, located at 329 E. Main St., is open from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Steel Band, also known as the "Jacks of Steel," will perform an exciting and diverse concert of music under the direction of Brad Meyer, director of percussion studies, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, in Cole Concert Hall in the Wright Music Building on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus.

One of the most popular and requested ensembles in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ School of Music, the group is comprised of 13 members playing steel pan, ethnic percussion, drumset and bass guitar, according to Meyer.

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present a faculty chamber recital at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, in Cole Concert Hall in the Wright Music Building on the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ campus.

The faculty ensemble will feature Emily Mitchell, harp; Christina Guenther, flute; Jeremy Fain, bassoon; Geneva Fung, piano; and Melissa Nabb, viola.

The Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ A Cappella Choir, under the direction of Tim King, will perform the complete G.F. Handel's "Messiah" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in Kennedy Auditorium as part of the College of Fine Arts' University Series.
