Financial aid application assistance available at public library

Russian pianist to perform unique program of lesser-known piano works

NACOGDOCHES - Russian pianist Ksenia Nosikova will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, in Cole Concert Hall in the Wright Music Building on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.

Praised by the Boston Globe, New York Concert Reviews and other media for her "impressive musicianship" and "exquisite pianism," Nosikova has performed extensively in Europe, Asia, Russia, South America and the United States.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Gardens to host rainwater harvesting workshop


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Gardens will host a rainwater harvesting workshop from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 16, in the Agriculture Building Room 118, 1924 Wilson Drive, on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus.

Join David Parish, technical assistant from Texas Agrilife Extension, to learn the benefits of collecting rainwater, potential yields and different collection systems. Each participant will construct and take home a completed rain barrel for home use.

Cole Performing Arts Series features Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's talented music faculty


NACOGDOCHES - Stephen F. Austin State University music faculty members Jeremy Fain, Geneva Fung and J.D. Salas will present recitals in February as part of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ School of Music's Cole Performing Arts Series.

Bassoonist Fain will present an evening of music by his favorite composers at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, in Cole Concert Hall. Among the pieces he will perform are "Recit, Sicilienne, et Rondo" by Eugene Bozza, "Five Pieces in Folk Style" by Robert Schumann, "Rhapsody for Bassoon" by Wilson Osborne and "Trio for Oboe, Piano and Bassoon" by Michael Head.

Nacogdoches Naturally plans day trip to Ragtown Recreation Area


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Join Nacogdoches Naturally on Saturday, Feb. 9, for a day trip to Ragtown Recreation Area in the Sabine National Forest.

Individuals and families wishing to participate should meet at 8 a.m. at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ's Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St. Participants may ride in Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ vans or caravan in their own vehicles to the recreation area located in Shelby County. Travel time is approximately one hour, and the estimated return time is 4 p.m.
