Dedication ceremony celebrates naming of Robert and Kathy Lehmann Chemistry Building at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ


A dedication ceremony celebrating the naming of the Robert and Kathy Lehmann Chemistry Building was held Tuesday in conjunction with a meeting of the Stephen F. Austin State University Board of Regents. Dr. Robert Lehmann established Lehmann Eye Center in Nacogdoches and is recognized for his contributions to the advancement of surgical techniques in the management of eye diseases. His wife, Kathy, attended Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Dr. Patrick Jenlink, professor of secondary education and educational leadership at Stephen F. Austin State University, has been named the university's 2017-18 Regents Professor.

Reserved for exemplary community and university role models, the title of Regents Professor is the highest honor Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ bestows upon faculty members.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - When opportunity came knocking on the door of Ana Romero, Stephen F. Austin State University Rusche College of Business alumna, she answered with a determined curiosity.

"My friend messaged me one day and said there was a position opening at Amazon and I should apply," Romero said. "I thought, 'I'll go for it. There's no harm in trying.' I had heard Amazon's interview process was brutal, so I didn't know what my odds were."

Dr. Tim Clipson to offer Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ spring commencement address


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Dr. Tim Clipson, Stephen F. Austin State University professor in the Department of Business Communication and Legal Studies and Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ 101 Freshman Success coordinator, will offer the commencement address during the university’s spring graduation ceremonies Saturday, May 13.

Clipson has served Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ for 36 years in various roles and was recently named professor emeritus in the Department of Business Communication and Legal Studies. He will retire from Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ May 31.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Puzzling looks situate on their faces as an unfamiliar teacher begins speaking Arabic. As words flow from her mouth, the students fall deeper into confusion. Scanning the worksheet, they see symbols that bear no meaning to them.

Austin State University Rusche College of Business graduate students in the Society for Advancement of Management recently placed first in the graduate division during the annual Council for Advancement and Support of Education competition held in Orlando, Florida. Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµâ€™s undergraduate team finished third in its division.
